We were at the fabulous Clissold House on Sunday to help Hilary Gay celebrate her 60th Birthday with 76 of her nearest and dearest. With the sun shining all day and late into the afternoon Clissold House really was the perfect venue with it’s large and plentiful windows and gorgeous park setting. Guests enjoyed champagne and canapés on arrival consisting of: coconut and coriander dhal on a poppadum with green mango, roasted butternut squash with shitake mushroom and lemon and poached pear and Roquefort with red onion marmalade on walnut bread. The below menu was then served before guests danced the night away…
Fennel carpaccio and shallot with lemon oil and dill
Roasted red peppers and courgettes with basil pesto
Grilled asparagus with rocket and balsamic
Pan-seared sea bass with baby spinach and white wine sauce,
Sun-blushed tomato and fete cheese frittata with a white bean puree and lotus root
Mini baked cheese cake
All with an accompaniment of Chantilly cream.
